The quiet southeast corner of the BWCA, centered on the Kawishiwi River and its connected lake system. Lake Insula, Lake Polly, and Isabella Lake see far less traffic than the central lakes — longer drive to get there, bigger reward once you do. Excellent loop options through river and lake combinations, with strong fishing and real solitude even in peak season.
